Introducing “WalkAide”…a new treatment option for patients experiencing foot drop…and Rinko Orthopedic has it!
We are your officially authorized and trained WalkAide specialists.
WalkAide stimulates the muscles that dorsiflex the foot at the appropriate time during the gait cycle resulting in a much more natural, efficient walking pattern.
Most patients with upper motor neuron-related foot drop who use WalkAide experience immediate and substantial walking improvement without surgery!
- WalkAide helps patients with the following indications:
- CVA or Stroke
- Incomplete SCI
- …Above T6 may suffer from autonomic dysreflexia
- …Below T12 may involve peripheral nerve roots
- Traumatic brain Injury
- Cerebral Palsy
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Familial hereditary spastic paraplegia (FSP)
- Other UMN or CNS involvements
Although highly-advanced, WalkAide is surprisingly small and quite easy to use. It consists of a battery-operated, single-channel electrical stimulator, two electrodes an electrode leads. WalkAide is applied directly to your leg – not implanted underneath the skin – which means no surgery involved. A cuff holds the system comfortably in place, and it can be worn discreetly under most clothing.
